 The researchers in the computer science in sports (a.k.a. Digital Sports) group at the Pattern Recognition Lab in Erlangen conduct theoretical and applied research for: 
  • Pattern recognition in sports and medical engineering
    • Data mining and analysis of sports and medical data
    • Data modeling of processes in sports
    • Used for example for injury prevention and gait analysis
  • Classification on embedded systems
    • Embedded classification algorithms for mobile applications
    • Embedded signal processing and data collection
    • Used for example to increase health benefits of exercising
    • Further application areas: e.g. automotive, automation and production engineering
  •  Further research interests include
    • Sensors integrated in clothes and equipment
    • Body-Area-Networks for near field communication
    • Ambient Assisted Living applications
