Medical Image ProcessingThe division medical image processing investigates problem statements in image fusion, reconstruction, segmentation and image analysis. In the context of the SFB 539 new segmentation algorithms of the optic nerve head for automated glaucoma screening are designed. Furthermore are advanced 3D and 4D reconstruction algorithms for C-arm CT investigated and developed. In a subproject of the SFB "Computer Assisted Endoscopic Surgery" are several practical applications of Augmented Reality Visualization in minimally invasive endoscopic surgery considered. Sophisticated imaging systems as well as exact reconstruction algorithms in computer tomography are developed and their realization using recent hardware architectures are investigated. A further problem statement is the detection and segmentation of lymph nodes in complete body scans using magnet resonance imaging. To improve image quality edge-preserving noise reduction in CT, based on identification of correlations, is applied. |
