My main research interest lies in the field of automatic detection of glaucoma in screening examinations to allow early diagnosis and therapy.

Automatic detection of glaucoma (see projects)
Determination of biological age from retina images
Methods:
- Segmentation based image analysis
- Appearance based image analysis (e.g. PCA, LDA)
- Change detection

Usage of different acquisition modalities:
- Kowa NonMyd: coloured images
- Heidelberg Retinatomograph II: height images

This research project is financed by the Collaborative Research Centre 539: Glaucoma incl. Pseudoexfoliations-Syndrom (PEX) subproject A4.
