Michael Stürmer M. Sc.Alumnus of the Pattern Recognition Lab of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-NürnbergComputers are meant to solve problems which would not occur without them Time-of-Flight dynamic feet reconstructionThree dimensional information about the surface of feet is valuable for many applications. Orthopedics, sport scientists and shoe manufacturers are interested in comparing the shapes of feet and to study the deformation when the load on the foot changes. While for the time being there are only static acquisition devices commercially available, several research groups are investigating the possibilities to go to the next level: 3D acquisition of walking feet.
In this project we are researching in cooperation with the company Lion Systems S.A. algorithms to reconstruct 3D shapes of human feet. The acquisition device uses several Time-of-Flight cameras which operate at framerates of up to 40 frames per second. |
