This lecture will introduce basic algorithms for image and speech processing in detail. The discussion of various methods concentrates on the object-oriented implementation of pattern recognition algorithms. The main topics are line detection methods, (fast) discrete Fourier transform, algorithms for computing features in the spatial and frequency domain as well as standard classification algorithms. The implementation of all algorithms in C++ is part of the associated tutorials, therefore participants should be familiar with basic C++ concepts.
