New PhD student

Prathmesh Madhu started working with the Pattern Recognition Lab as PhD researcher under Prof. Andreas Maier on the topic -
"Scene understanding using deep learning" from December, 2018. He has a working experience of 2 years and 4 months at InFoCusp Innovations Pvt. Ltd, a consulting firm in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence problems providing software solutions for the same. He worked there in the areas of activity detection using sensor data, context-based recommendation systems, understanding of CNNS. Prior to that, he completed his Masters in Technology from DAIICT, Gandhinagar, India and his thesis was titled "Deep Learning based Super-resolution". His areas of interest are mathematics, machine (and deep) learning, computer vision and NLP.


His research is funded by DAAD and his focus is going to be in the areas of detection and localisation of objects in images and videos.
