It’s a great please to announce that a joint group of humanities and computer science researchers (Prof. Bell, Prof. Verstegen, Prof. Reinhardt, and Prof. Maier) have been successful to acquire a two-year research project within FAU’s Emerging Fields Initiative (EFI). In total 481.000 EUR will be used to move digital humanities research to the next level. A major focus of the project will be to shift the current paradigm from image classification towards image understanding identifying complex historical narratives in images.
