Seminar 3-D Vision Hackathon [SemHack]

Summary
The goal of this block seminar is to build an entire application using advanced computer vision technologies. The seminar consists of three parts and is structured like a hackathon. 1. Get inspired (day 1): Experts from academia and / or industry will present different technologies like - mixed reality devices (e.g. Microsoft HoloLens) - 3D cameras (e.g. Kinect, RealSense, Project Tango) and - other computer vision related technology. 2. Build something fancy using the introduced technology (day 2-4). 3. Present your application (day 5). During the seminar there will be mentoring and a limited number of devices (HoloLenses, cameras, etc.) provided.

We are offering a new format for the computer vision seminar that allows you to get hands on experience with cutting-edge 3-D computer vision technology.

The goal of this block seminar is to build an entire application using advanced computer vision technologies. The seminar consists of four parts and is structured like a hackathon:

  1. Get inspired (day 1): experts from academia and industry (currently Microsoft, Metrilus) will present different technologies that can be used during the seminar:

  2. Implement your own idea using the introduced technology (day 1-5)
  3. Present your application (day 5)
  4. Wrap up your project. This may include continuing with working on your project/refactoring code/writing a paper on the topic you have chosen (during the semester).

The seminar will take place during the week from October 9th to 13th (the last week before the next winter semester begins).
